What is a Man-in-the-Browser attack?

A Man-in-the-Browser attack involves compromising a user's web browser in order to discreetly intercept or modify the information exchanged with a legitimate website. Unlike other attacks, the user is indeed visiting the genuine site, but their browser has been altered by malware.
