Preamble
Since the earliest days of Quantum Beyond, we have made one fundamental choice: to develop artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure solutions that place human beings, governance, and trust at the heart of every decision. Following trends can create stability and a sense of security, but it does not make you a leader or a pioneer.
Our vision is therefore to anticipate how those trends will evolve, to understand their consequences, and to design solutions capable of remaining relevant for many years to come.
The entry into force in June–July 2024 of the European regulation on artificial intelligence (AI Act) marks an important milestone in that evolution. For the first time, a regulatory framework of international scope sets out precise requirements for the design, development, deployment, and governance of artificial intelligence systems.
Far beyond a legal obligation applicable to certain organizations, this regulation represents a benchmark that will progressively shape the practices of many governments, companies, and standards bodies around the world. Our ambition is as much to be compliant as it is to draw on international best practices in order to develop solutions that are ever more robust, responsible, transparent, and trustworthy.
This approach is a strategic investment in the future of Quantum Beyond.
Why does the AI Act matter to us?
The AI Act was designed to govern the development of artificial intelligence so that it remains at the service of people, organizations, and society. The principles it introduces align directly with several values that matter deeply to Quantum Beyond and are progressively becoming an international benchmark, namely: governance, human oversight, risk management, cybersecurity, data quality, transparency, robustness, traceability, and accountability.
This convergence confirms that our vision is sound and deserves to be taken further.
Why go beyond the minimum requirements?
Beyond complying with a regulation, Quantum Beyond wants to build an organization capable of remaining credible, relevant, and competitive in a fast-moving technological environment. Adopting the principles of the AI Act will allow us, among other things, to strengthen the quality of our products, improve our development methods, further structure our governance, demonstrate our rigor to our clients, and facilitate our business dealings with organizations that will themselves have to meet increasingly demanding requirements.
This approach will also help strengthen the trust of our partners, investors, and collaborators. A company that voluntarily applies recognized standards demonstrates its ability to anticipate market expectations rather than simply endure them.
An approach that goes beyond compliance
Quantum Beyond wants to evolve its practices continuously so that every project, every product, every service, and every decision reflects the highest standards of quality, governance, and accountability. This philosophy aligns directly with our Human at the Center approach, our vision of digital sovereignty, our AI Readiness methodology, our knowledge governance (QKS), our conception of cyber resilience, and our constant drive to build infrastructures of superior robustness.
The AI Act thus becomes one reference point among others within a much broader pursuit of organizational excellence.
A collective responsibility
Compliance with a framework like the AI Act never rests on a single person. It concerns the organization as a whole. Architects, developers, cybersecurity specialists, analysts, managers, quality leads, sales teams, partners, and leadership all contribute to the quality and credibility of our solutions. This effort will require time, reflection, adjustments, and continuous improvement, and will sometimes lead us to question certain practices, document our decisions more thoroughly, or strengthen our processes.
These efforts represent an investment in the quality of our work and in the reputation we intend to build.
The future, after the AI Act
The AI Act is today the most structured regulatory benchmark for artificial intelligence, and it will most likely not be the last. Other countries are currently developing their own governance frameworks, while several international standards continue to evolve. We must therefore view this regulation as an important milestone, not as a final destination.
The Quantum Beyond team is committed to maintaining ongoing strategic monitoring in order to track the evolution of regulations, technical standards, best practices, and scientific advances likely to influence our activities.
Our goal is to remain at the forefront, not only technologically, but also in governance, quality, cybersecurity, and digital trust.
Our commitment
The most powerful technologies are those that inspire trust. That trust is not earned through technical performance alone. It is built through rigorous governance, continuous improvement, deliberate transparency, and an unwavering commitment to placing the interests of people and organizations at the heart of every decision.
It is in this spirit that Quantum Beyond is undertaking this journey, because it represents one more opportunity to become the company we have always set out to build.
